Refractive Cataract Surgery with Premuim Lenses
Bifocal glasses and bifocal contact lenses help you see near or far, depending on which part of the lens you use to see. Now, we can provide that same visual experience to qualifying cataract patients and reduce their dependence on glasses. We also have premium implants that treat pre-existing astigmatism.
If you have been diagnosed with cataracts and are considering cataract removal with lens implantation, you may be a candidate for a premium IOL.
Our practice has the areas most experienced team of surgeons implanting multifocal or premium implants. Your lens options include:
Crystalens® - accommodating style implant where all of the light passing through the lens is focused on the retina.
- Then it uses the same ciliary muscles your natural eye uses to move the lens.
- Crystalens® shifts from a more posterior position in the eye for distance vision and forward for close vision
- A flexible hinge within the lens allows it to move.
- Most people after the surgery can see at close or intermediate levels without glasses. Unlike with other IOLs, they can also see at a distance without glasses.
Bifocal Type Implants
Rezoom® - Refractive lens where center of lens brings light in distance to clear focus and there are bifocal rings that focus some of the light at near.
Restor® - Diffractive optic available in 2 powers near dominant lens that provides excellent distance vision as well.
Tecnis Multifocal® - Diffractive optic near dominant lens that provides excellent distance vision as well.
Astigmatism Correcting Implants
Acrysof Toric® - Treats astigmatism to eliminate dependence of spectacles for distance or near but not both. It is a monofocal lens.
